PROBLEM BASED LEARNING MODELS IN IMPROVING THE LEARNING RESULTS AND LEARNING ACTIVITIES OF STUDENTS IN ELECTRICITY CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS IN THE SIXTH GRADE OF SDN 2 TELAGA BIRU GORONTALO DISTRICT

The Problem Based Learning (PBL) model is a learning approach that presents contextual problems that are able to stimulate students to learn. This class action research aims to improve the learning outcomes and learning activites of sixth grade students on the electrical circuit material through the application of PBL models in SDN 2 Telaga Biru, Gorontalo District. The subjects of this study were the sixth grade students, amounting to 23 people. This research has been carried out in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of two meetings. In cycle I, the PBL model is combined with the use of an Electric KIT. In cycle II, PBL models are combined with the use of PhET Simulation media. Based on the research results obtained information that there is an increase in student learning outcomes. In the first cycle, the number of students who completed only reached 39.13%, while in cycle 2 it reached 91.3%. Aspects observed for student learning activities include observing, asking, trying, associating and communicating. The five indicators also increased from cycle I to cycle II. The average learning activity in the first cycle reached 65.24%, while in the second cycle it reached 81.39%. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the application of the PBL model can improve student learning outcomes and activities on the material for the electrical circuits in the sixth grade of SDN II Telaga Biru, Gorontalo District.
